The place where we live is at the corner of two streets named for famous explorers.
It’s a nice corner in a very nice neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly. There are a lot of kids, so the boys always have someone to play with. We can walk down to the Town Center (their capitalization, not mine) and go to the grocery, have dinner at a variety of places, grab a drink or see a movie.
The community is built around a bunch of little parks, the biggest of which is down the street from us. It has playgrounds, a couple of ponds, tennis and basketball courts, running paths and lots of other very nice features. We can walk to the pool, where we have a complimentary membership. It’s really great and I say that without irony.
But the place where we live is at the corner of two streets named for famous explorers. Both of these guys died as a result of their exploring.
This is not lost on me.
